Loretta Janeta Velazquez was famous for dressing up as a man to join 

the Civil War. Also, she was a Union Spy in the American Civil War. 

After the War, she wrote her own book. the book was called 

"The Woman In Battle" the book is about her experiences and 

adventures she had when she was in the war.
