Theodore Roosevelt was held many government jobs during his life time such as the governor of New York, vice president. He was most famous for leading one of our greatest Calvary divisions Known as the "Rough Riders" during the Golf War. Later while he was serving as vice president,  president  McKinley was assassinated and so he took over his office as president, and later was voted in as president for another term. During his presidential years TR conserved much forest lands and founded many national parks such as yellow stone. He also ordered the construction of the Panama canal. this was a great advancement because now ships could easily cross from the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
