Jefferson   had many accomplishments. In 1786, 8 years after it was introduced, his bill on religious liberty passed. This bill stated, “all men should be free to profess, and by argument to maintain, their opinions on matters of religion, and the same shall no wise diminish, enlarge or affect their civil capacities.”  No other state or nation had religious liberty at the time. In April 1784 he proposed to use the decimal system and dollar currency of money, which led to the adoption of the dollar in 1792.  In the election of 1800 Jefferson ran against Aaron Burr. Jefferson won and served two terms. In the final years of his life he designed and built the University of Virginia . He also made a famous quote, “A Bill of Rights is what the people are entitled to against every government, and what no just government should refuse, or rest on inference.”
