With today’s economical camcorders and digital cameras, video editing is a strategy that can be used in all of today’s classrooms. The benefits of Video Production in the classroom include: motivation of students to engage and produce quality work, promotion of teamwork among students; development of leadership, study and organizational skills; and the fostering of higher level thinking skills as students learn the inter-disciplinary process of video production. Teachers who are thinking about integrating video into their curriculum may not be sure where to begin. One place to start is by learning Adobe’s versatile and affordable video editing software, Premier Elements 4.0. This easy to use software helps teachers master video editing so they can integrate movie making into their curriculum.

Participants in this workshop will understand how to use Adobe Premier Elements 4.0; create standards-based integrated video projects using their own pictures and video clips for use within there locus of control; be given examples of and ideas for classroom video projects; and understand the benefits of video production, some challenges educators may face implementing video production in the classroom and classroom production tips.
