Welcome back to school!

Please watch this video on our computer lab rules

When you are finished watching the video, open Microsoft word and write down the 3 rules. Raise your hand and show me when you are done, then save in your document folder-you do not need to print it out.

Directions for using the cd roms that come with your History Curriculum:

1. Before you put the cd in check and see if your computer has the program called Adobe Acrobat Reader. To check go to Start/Programs and look through the list. You need this free program to use the cd.
2. Put the cd in the drive and wait for the splash screen to appear. Click "Exit".
3. Double click on "my Computer"
4. Locate the cd rom drive-most of the time this is "D" (also look for the black and white McGraw Hill logo)
5. right click on the logo
6. left click on "open"
7. Skip this step if you already have Adobe Acrobat Reader. Install Adobe Acrobat Reader if you need to: Double click on the folder "Acrobat Reader Windows". Double click on "AdbeRdr60_DLM_enu.full.exe and follow the instructions to download this file. When you are done uploading, click on the back bottom or browse back to the main folder.
8. Double click on the support folder
9. Double click on the pdf folder
10. locate the "docs" folder.
11. Right click on the docs folder and drag the folder to either the desktop or your documents folder. Let go of th eright mouse button and select copy. This will make a copy of all the files in that folder and you will not need to use the cd to access the files.
12. Test your copy. Take out the cd and open the folder that you copied onto your desktop or documents folder. Double click on the docs file-if you see all the pdf files then you have successfully copied them onto your computer!
