Library News!!!
K-3 Classes
In Kindergarten through third grade our primary goal is to teach book
care and
responsibility. Students are taught parts of the book, how to care for
their books
and responsibility by returning their library books on time. Dates due
are stamped
at the back of the books. Students may have one book checked out at
a time.
Books that are returned damaged or lost must be paid for. Students
report cards
are held until library fines are cleared.
4th through 6th
Fourth grade brings many changes in the library, but with added privileges
also come added responsibilities. Beginning in the fourth grade, students
may have two books checked out at a time and one of their “books”
may be a magazine. Students may have the books for one week. If the
book is not finished, the student must bring it back and renew it. If
a book is late, students are charged a five-cent per day fine per book.
Students will have one “free” day before the fine begins.
Students may pay fines when convenient, however, report cards, bowling
party and dance privileges (6th-8th grades) are withheld until the fine
is cleared. Any damaged and/or lost books must be paid for as well.
7th-8th Grades
Junior High students no longer have regularly scheduled library times
but students
are responsible for returning their books by the date stamped on the
back of their books. Students may renew their books by bringing them
in and re-checking them out. Students
can check books in/out before school, during the AR time, at morning
break and lunch. They may have two books checked out at a time.
Report cards are held if damaged books, lost books and/or library fines
are not cleared.
We’re looking forward to a great year in the school library and
hope this information helps to make it a pleasant one.
Thank you!
